Import/Export/Open/Save Options in Map3D 2006

Sometimes, you just need to know your options... what you can open, what you can save to. In Map3D 2006, there are a few places to find this information, so I like to keep it all together in one list for ease of use and a quick reference.

  3. thanks, that would be a great help. i have a few maps that i would like to use in autocad, but although some claim they can be imported, i cant get it to work and i dont want to spend on autocad map 3d just to use it as a gml-dxf converter. Thanks again

  4. Well, meloe1, I am afraid that my conclusion is that you're out of luck.

    I've got AutoCAD Architecture open right now and all through the menus and the help files, there is no gml.

    The filetypes supported for import are:

    WMF—Windows metafile (see WMFIN)
    SAT—ACIS solid object file (see ACISIN)
    3DS—3D Studio file (see 3DSIN)
    V8 DGN—MicroStation DGN file (see DGNIMPORT)


    There are a few things about MAP that I miss, one of which is the great cleanup tools, the other is the wider range of filetypes it can work with.
